Chris Matthies
Owner
Chris Matthies is the heart and mind behind Sonoma Brothers Distilling. From the early days of working in the distillery alongside his brother Brandon, Chris has immersed himself in every aspect of the business. He spent long hours perfecting recipes, experimenting with distilling techniques, and learning the intricacies of growing a company from scratch. As the business evolved, so did Chris’s role—now managing financial analysis, distribution, and client relationships, earning him the unofficial title of "numbers guy."
Outside of the distillery, Chris serves as a Fire Captain, balancing his entrepreneurial passion with a career in service. At home, he’s a loving husband and father who values family above all else, bringing that same dedication and care to every bottle crafted by Sonoma Brothers.
Brandon Matthies
Director of Operations
Brandon Matthies is the creative force behind Sonoma Brothers Distilling. As the head distiller and Director of Operations, Brandon’s innovative vision shapes every spirit, from crafting recipes to refining distillation techniques. His relentless drive for perfection ensures that Sonoma Brothers’ products stand out in the world of craft spirits. Beyond distilling, Brandon leads the charge on brand design and operational improvements, always pushing the company to innovate and rise to the next level.
When he’s not immersed in the art of distillation, Brandon serves as a Police Sergeant, embodying discipline and leadership. A devoted husband and father of two, Brandon balances his many roles with an inspiring passion for excellence in both family and craft.

Kelly Matthies is the organizer and planner behind Sonoma Brothers Distilling, managing business financials and marketing with a hands-on approach. Whether planning sales strategies or planning for business growth, she ensures everything stays on track and aligned with the company’s vision.
